Who we are
Real Coffee is the trading name of Real Bedford Coffee Limited, registered in England and Wales (company no. 15724906), registered office Argent House, 5 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3JY. The coffee shop is at 68 High Street, Bedford MK40 1NT, part of the Real Bedford family. Real Bedford Coffee Limited is the data controller. What we collect, and why
Newsletter signups. If you sign up for updates, we collect your email address and your choice of Real Coffee news, Real Bedford FC news, or both. We use it only to send you the updates you asked for. Legal basis: your consent. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
Contact and careers forms. If you contact us or apply for a job, we collect your name, email address, your message, and a phone number if you give one. We use it only to reply to you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
That’s it. This website has no accounts, no logins, and takes no payments. We don’t buy data about you, and we never sell yours.
Who handles it for us
A small number of services process data on our behalf, only to provide their service: Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) stores our mailing lists and sends our newsletters; Resend delivers form submissions to our inbox; Vercel hosts this website; Google Analytics gives us anonymous statistics about how the site is used, but only if you accept analytics cookies. Some of these providers operate outside the UK - where they do, transfers are covered by recognised safeguards such as the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
We use one type of optional cookie: Google Analytics, which helps us understand how people use the site (which pages, from where, on what device). It is only set if you click Accept on the cookie banner, and IP addresses are anonymised. If you click Reject, no analytics cookies are set and the site works exactly the same. You can change your mind any time via Cookie preferences in the footer. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries and applications are kept only as long as needed to deal with them, then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@real-coffee.co.uk and we’ll sort it. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled something, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we handle data - for example, if we add analytics - we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
